BOARD OF SELECTMEN

SPECIAL MEETING                                                                                                                    AUG. 13, 2007
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING                                                                                                              5:30 P.M.


First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. with the following in attendance:  Selectmen Patton and Lewis, L. Nicholls and residents.

PUBLIC WORKS   
The Board signed bills and leave request.  Discussion followed on the compactor.  Lynn will be contacting  Willimantic Waste.  A letter will be sent telling them to go ahead with the installation and we will rent the compactor.  Lynn commented that Karl said the waste oil tank is doubled lined and okay.  Discussion followed on a problem with tree cutting and the left over brush pile.  This will be looked into.  Discussion followed on hiring someone to check out street signs, traffic signs, etc.  The money is there and the Board approved this.  First Selectman Eldredge talked to DOT regarding responsibility of site lines on state roads that intersect town roads.  Further information will be obtained.  Lynn commented she is very pleased with how Tinkerville Road is coming along.  Discussion on other culverts followed.  Selectman Patton asked how we are doing with the time and material jobs.  Lynn commented Karl is checking pins and bus-turn-arounds on Latham and Eldredge Mills Roads.  Cosgrove, Fisher Hill and Blair Roads are being worked on.  Discussion on other roads followed.  Selectman Patton asked that Lenard Engineering be invited to the BOS meeting on the 20th. to discuss the Hall School water main.  Selectman Lewis commented we need all the information so the Board can make a decision.  Selectman Patton commented we need the installation dates for the oil tanks at Hall School.  Selectman Lewis asked have we heard from M. Sullivan after the meeting.  First Selectman Eldredge reply no.  Selectman Patton will e-mail the attorney on this.   

SELECTMAN PATTON MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:42 P.M.
Selectman Lewis seconded the motion.
VOTE:  3 YES (ELDREDGE, PATTON & LEWIS)    0  NO
